I've been dealing with Alaska Behavorial Healh for a little bit now. I started when I was in Treatment, they always treat me with respect, never less than...I got my meds through them which have helped me immensely! The staff have always been nice to me, and the reason I go back is Dr.Myra Kelly.... she always takes her time to read over and explain anything on my charts and figures a course of action ... Thanks Alaska Behavioral Health

Was referred here for PCP. Am on a schedule five nerve pain med. I have a herniated disc and can’t hold my child or work without the medication. Myra saw me for initial appt and all was well and she said they would take good care of me. Friday I called for a refill and was denied and told I had to have another visit and pass a drug test? My next appt wasn’t for weeks. People on the phone were sarcastic when uncaring. I’m in the medical field and was told that this was wrong and they just want more money out of it. Went all weekend without holding my son, now I’m depressed and unable to work or get out of bed. In my opinion everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves. I wish I would have known that then I would’ve come in that day or sooner to take drug test. I’m willing to jump through whatever stupid hoops they want me to but you can’t just abandon me as a patient. I feel that they just abandoned me so beware.

They let their patient suffer and go without their medications because they don’t know how to manage their time. We were told to call on Monday to speak with the ANRP who is managing our meds and after leaving a message on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we still never received a call back. Called again on Friday only to be told they don’t have clinic on Friday and the providers in Anchorage won’t do anything about it so we must wait until Monday to speak with Kim. That will be 7 days without our psychiatric medications! This should not be allowed to happen. Joe with the nursing managers office is a real piece of work she was dismissive and sarcastic I can’t believe medical offices let people like he interact with the public.

Would give Zero stars if I could. Was never informed of who I would be seeing until I showed up for the appointment. Joe saw me for all of 20 minutes through Telehealth (was never told it was going to be Telehealth. I loved having wasted the time driving to Fairbanks for a 20 minute zoom call.) and decided that ALL of my diagnosis that I’ve had for 10+ Years were Incorrect and I didn’t actually have them. No ADHD, No Bipolar, No Depression. He credited all my issues to “poor sleep schedule”. I used to go to this center for YEARS as a Teen and Young Adult and have never felt so blatantly disrespected, disregarded, and brushed aside as I did in the time I was in this building for 1 appointment. Joe decided to focus on all the wrong problems, and completely ignored the fact that I was there as a person seeking to stabilize their mental health. I went in for HELP, and was basically shoved out the door with “You don’t have this, See another clinic if you want a second opinion.”

I needed a professional counselor to talk to, so I sought out services from Fairbanks behavioral health, as it was an option readily available to me. They assigned me Ester ransom, she seemed like a very well put together knowledgeable woman, but all my trust in her services failed when I had an appointment scheduled to see her at 3 PM, an appointment I’d taken work off for and had my son at the babysitter that I had to pick up at 4 o’clock. She came into the waiting room at 3pm so I stood up and she waved somebody else back rudely ignoring me. I genuinely understand that mistakes with scheduling happen, but there was another girl in there that was also supposed to see her at three also! so they triple scheduled her. I left because I was pretty upset, I took off work, my son was at the babysitter.. you get the picture . Ester called me and said sorry about the mixup, and stated she called my name and that the other client stood up and walked towards her. Which was a lie, she never called my name, she straight up ignored me. All my trust in her services were terminated after that lie she told. I would of forgiven her and came back, but you don’t get to lie to me, makes me wonder how many other people she lies to in there that are incompetent of knowing a truth from a lie. You know? I asked the receptionist if I could see a different counselor and they made it really complicating to allow that to happen. They said they had to go talk to their manager or something and request a new counselor for me. I’d periodically call them to see how that new counselor request was going and they acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about. Then the same day I called the receptionist to ask about the new counselor request they had Esther call me, even after I was very assertive in saying that I didn’t want her as a counselor anymore. However, The psychiatric services here are great, and so is the provider Myra. They are very knowledgeable in their department, and friendly.
