The staff does not treat you with respect. Pretty much felt like a threat during intake. And they had me strip down with a male in the room even if he wasn't looking also a camera is present. Yes, i know it's for safety reasons. Had a staff member call me a weirdo, this isn't your house. (when my bathroom door was cracked during room checks) One staff member almost stepped on my glasses during bed checks in the AM because they do not pay attention. The facility was filthy, the shower did not get cleaned still had hair in it. Which I'm sure with a place like that they can't go into detail cleaning. But i think there should be some kind of system in place to make that a focus, they were waxing floors in the men's part of the hall. Just seems very unsanitary. I was back here in August, staff is there for a paycheck, i know every patient is different. DO BETTER. We all matter, at least pretend to give a shit.

Do not go here if you need mental health help. A lot of staff was apathetic or straight up rude and refused reasonable accommodations for sensory issues, and hypermobility/double jointed knees. They refused to give me a pillow for my knees and I had leg pain and knee pain because of it. They do not care if you are too cold. They refused to give anyone a second blanket. Not every member of staff was bad. However, overall this was the worse mental hospital I've been to and I've been to 4 different hospitals. One staff member caused me to have a panic attack and freeze up while I was laying in bed trying to be okay. She then told me "come on you aren't even trying" and went on about how she "has an autistic nephew and he's nonverbal but he still has go into restaurants". As if that's appropriate or normal to say??? She was very rude, invalidating, and ableist towards me. After I stopped being scared and I realised she was way out of line as a medical worker I got the courage to say "please leave my room." DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE AUTISM. They will mistreat you. The only way I got food one day was by threatening to talk to a supervisor. Which is so unacceptable in so many ways. Dr Potter is awful and also thinks medical marijuana is not helpful for anyone. When it is scientifically proven to help some people hence there being a medical version. Besides that she was dismissive of my feelings and concerns. I shouldn't have to say this but apparently I do. It's no doctors business to insert their personal beliefs on anyone. Medical marijuana isn't just available for anyone. You have to get a doctor's approval based on your symptoms. So for dr Potter to say "I've never spoken to a single person that it helped" is just a straight up lie and malpractice. Different mental illnesses need different kinds of medicine or treatments and as a doctor you are NOT allowed to discriminate like that. Medical staff can have personal opinions but you do not shove those opinions at a patient. They also illegally discharged me. I was not safe to be alone when they made me leave. I hadn't even got a shower or starting actually doing better. They did not go over what I was signing they basically just wanted me to go die on the street. I told them I wasn't safe alone and they did not care. Then when I was freaking out because obviously after dealing with that much bs, they told me I was being "emotionally manipulative" by saying I was going to kill myself after i was discharged. For being a mental hospital St Bernard's staff do not seem to understand that mood swings exist and that autism isn't a choice. If I could give zero stars I would. My partner and I have reported this facility and will be going to court if necessary. I literally said I wasn't safe alone and I would kill myself in a homeless shelter and they still discharged me that same hour. This is not what a mental health facility should be doing and it's highly illegal. Again if you need help or have autism please don't go to this place.

I was here in 2022. It was one of, if not the worst, experience of my life. I attempted an OD and was transferred here for a 72 hr hold. I was treated like a literal animal. They treat everyone there like they're insane and idiotic, even when they're not. It is cold. Not comforting. And it SHOWS that they do NOT care about their patients. I ended up nearly septic from a UTI that they treated with a VIRAL antibiotic instead of bacterial. If you have a choice, DO NOT GO HERE. From what I've heard, it hasn't changed since. I've had family that's gone here recently and it is STILL awful.

This place is an absolute joke. My mother has had to go around 10 times in the past year and a half due to her being schizophrenic and everytime, they release her while she is still having active delusions, they put her on medications that don’t work for more than a week or two, anytime I call for an update I’m typically given the run around. My mother continues to get worse and while I BEG them for help, they simply tell me this is all they can do. At this point it is only a matter of time until my mom kills herself and they simply do not care. Today when I went to pick her up, I was asked to leave the waiting room and wait outside saying they “had too much going on in here”, it was only me and one other person there. A man who had also just been released and he was telling me how awful it is in there and how cold and uncaring they are, to which I agreed. That’s when they asked me to leave. Summary: Their negligence is going to be the reason I lose my mother.

Worst experience I ever had in my life. They do not care about you, just a paycheck. If you want to be treated like a dog, this is the place for you. It’s disgusting just how bad they treat people there. You would think, they would be kind to people that are hurting. Not at this place.
