  Went to this place last year and had such a garbage experience… gotta love being told your anxiety symptoms are “untreatable” after like 2 or 3 sessions (with literally zero actionable advice other than to read a book that had nothing to do with what I was going through). I was told my anxiety could only be treated with medication (even after communicating that medications were never effective for me and usually made me feel worse). Then I finally gave in and sure enough I had horrible side effects on the medication. Why are you practicing therapy if you can’t even make a helpful suggestion for the most common mental health ailment while also making your clients feel even more helpless about their struggles?

  With SO much going on that is dysfunctional In our society, as well as our every day living, I believe it is very very important to have someone that is in a position to help you, but in that position, they are actually concerned about helping you, and not just pushing medication on you. With so many other things that has not went well in my life I can say that I have hit the jackpot In finding this place that is filled with amazing people from the receptionist to my provider, The level of respect that you receive when you walk in the door is something I wished was employed in every setting there’s no judgment here. Derek Has helped me tremendously but also the receptionist they are wonderful as well. I can’t imagine one of them being rude or mean to anyone in this setting. They are human as all of us are so whatever they deal with in their life beyond the doors of this building it does not interfere or cross that threshold of work.

  After ten years of being unable to trust most medical professionals due to a traumatic experience of an adverse reaction to SSRIs, I was able to find someone who could actually help me. Derek has completely changed my medical experience. Together we found a medication that worked for me without side effects. He wanted to be sure I had a say in my care, took time to earn my trust, and always makes sure I feel safe. I have been seeing Beth Owens there for about a year now and she has had a near inexplicable positive impact on my life. I’ve been in therapy for 13 years and in 1 year with her, I’ve had my eyes opened so wide to things in my life I thought I understood. This has helped me see myself clearly and be able to actually love myself which has extended beyond me into my relationships, health, and career. I believe in me again. I thought I was living a life that was as good as it could get with the level of trauma I had. I was living in fight flight constantly and my entire day was spent around coping skills and trying to regulate my emotions. Now I’m actually living. And happy. Honestly, I’m thriving. I recommend them to everyone all the time and will continue to do so.

  If I could leave a negative star review I would a 1 star is still too much for her. I can't speak for the whole facility, only for Beth Owens LSCSW. If you are not looking to better the mental health of your child, and just want a glorified journal writer then she's the therapist for you. Or if you are looking to get alienated by your child, she's good at that too. Don't go to her if you are looking for help and have questions. She will not help she will listen as much as a brick wall will but will not give any advice. You can be told that you are the reason for all of your child's problems but will not reach out to help rectify the issue. It seems to be a first come first serve approach with her. The first parent to speak is the side she will side with. How the state of Kansas lets her practice is astonishing.

  This place has helped my family tremendously. I have been a long time client of Dr Patton who has helped me through so many issues. His simple, no nonsense approach helps you value yourself so much more as a person. He is honest and straightforward and yet sympathetic and kind. He takes your success personally and wants to see you succeed in your life. Dr Evans completed testing on my daughter which enabled us to make sure she got the necessary assistance in her IEP. I can't say enough good things about the help I have received here. Best place in Wichita for your family's needs.
